This probably belongs on a different thread, but I have also noticed the different sound w/timing advanved and the smell. Why is this? Do you think it sounds better w/timing advanced or not?

Yes it sounds much tighter. I first noticed it on my friends '04 Mach1 with timing bumped way up. I figured it was just because he has a 4v high compression motor. It really howls bad and the exhaust smells very hot and non-gassy. Now mine smells similar and sounds more tight and less lazy. I've really noticed it when I let my wife blow me away while she's in the GT and I"m in the Suburban with the kids. There goes mommy! Smells and sounds different. I only wish that our 2v motors had detonation detection like the 4v. I've noticed no problems though.
