Default Vortech intercooling question

I plan on buying a V3 kit sometime in the future and have some questions about intercooling a vortech setup. First, am I better off going with Vortech's water-cooling aftercooler setup or should I just buy an air-air intercooler and have whatever piping fabricated that I would need? Second, if the vortech setup is going to be better, will the fluidyne heat exchanger for the termis fit our cars as an upgrade to the vortech exchanger?

Some people complain about vortech's aftercooling system because of heat soak when used excessively. It is up to you I think they look real clean I would go with their's. If you make your own air to air it is way cheaper and practically no heat soak problems.

That really depends on what you're doing with the car. I have a Vortech setup with an air-air intercooler and I'm very happy with it. I also wouldn't pay someone to do it if I was you. It's really not that bad... just start measuring and cutting and it should be no big deal.

Just wondering how long did it take you? Did you do something similar to the diy intercooler sticky in the superchargers section of this forum?

If vortech is the best setup with an air to air intercooler, I have no problem learning some fabrication. But for power, how do they compare to the other blower setups? The procharger kits are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, but I've heard people going either way on how they perform on our cars.

Not sure, I've never checked it out... but everyone usually does something pretty similar. The only difference I did is instead of snaking the tubing back up after the intercooler, I did it with one long straight piece.

I think the V3 Vortechs use a self contained oiling system don't they? Because that has been a big difference maker in peoples decisions before. People use to not want to tap the oil pan for the return line.

You really shouldn't see significantly higher numbers with either supercharger, it just comes down to preference and price.

The V3 is a self contained setup, but so are the prochargers. The difference would be that when I decide to upgrade, all of the prochargers are self contained, I believe. But the difference now would be building a intercooler setup for a V3 or getting the procharger that has the exact intercooler setup I would like.
