I just bought an 03 GT and I am helping my Grandma get a like new 10,000 mile 02 GT convertible. I noticed her car was louder than mine and a couple of people have said my car was quiet copared to others they had heard. Do these cars get a deaper louder sound after they get a few miles on them. I know the 02 has a stock exaust and from out side the car it roumbles more.Whats up with this, did Ford quieten down the 03's?

why would you want to keep any ford exhaust stock in the first place

Just go get some flowmaster 2 chambers installed or a catback makes a good sound after and better feel.

Yes, the 03 exaust is a little quieter than before, especialy in the Cobra. This has to do with backpreasure requirments on the cobras. On the GT's, im not sure but i think that they are a little quieter. The stock muffelers are 3 chamber design, made by walker muffler corp. Since the mufflers are Stainles, like the rest of the exaust, its better to get a cat back system.
