Help, vibration from engine
Just wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction. I have a vibration from about 1400 - 1600 rpm at idle. It is enough of a vibration that if I watch the steering wheel, I can actually see it shake slightly when it rev's up to 1400-1600, and revs down from 1600-1400. Here is what happened. I can also feel the vibration if I lean up against the front bumper, and rev the car.
I parked it last fall (about 2 months ago) for 2 reasons. 1, my T45 blew up, and 2 it was winter time. Over the winter I had the T45 rebuilt. I also installed a wideband O2 controller, ford racing plug wires, and a steeda tri-ax shifter. When I brought it out last week, I noticed what I described above. So I thought maybe it was the plug wires, so I bought a new set but it did not help. The plugs have about 7000 miles on them and they are Motorcraft platnium. I swapped my coil packs out to some known working one. None of that helped at all.
I took it to a buddy's house tonight as he has a scan tool. His scan tool showed no issues with the car. He said that the vibration was something out of balance with the rotation. He said to check the balancer, and the clutch components. The flywheel was turned about 4000 miles ago when the clutch kit was installed. It is a factory flywheel and has a king cobra clutch.
I looked at the balancer tonight, and it does not appear to have slipped. I was also thinking that by pushing the clutch in and revving the car, it should elimate the clutch disc and tranny from causing the issue as the vibration was still present with the clutch in.
Just am hoping someone can try to help point me to what I appear to be missing.
