some like it

Pros: Better engine response, smoother transmission shifting, better MPG than factory specs
Cons: Maybe a bit Pricey, OK very pricey, but you get what u pay for

others hate it

Pros: You get to make someone rich
Cons: It isn't you.

zmax:
my friend has a 96 v6 that's on it's last legs and he's been hoping it'll kick the bucket so he can get a cobra or something and he bought it hoping it'd like screw up his engine but it acutally made his engine run a little smoother and he got slightly better gas millage... haven't tried it in my gt yet but I'd give it a try....

I agree. If it aint broke...
As far as octane goes. Higher octane is typicaly adjusted for compression. I use higher octane because it keeps the chambers cleaner and I have found that it improves milage so, I go farther on a tank of higher octane than lower. I have found that the costs difference is compensated by the better fuel milage therefore worth the money.

I use lucas fuel injector cleaner once a month and I only put 91 octane in my car(its the highest i can get in NM). I noticed an increase in gas mileage with it especially on the highway. with 91 Oct. i can get upto 24 city and 31 highway. with 87 Oct. i get 19 city and 24 highway. This was done a few times since I've had the car. I used Shell gas everytime.

nice,i think im gonna continue using the lucas fuel injector cleaner. run a higher octane probably 91 since i doubt 89 will make much of a difference over 87 and 93 seems a little much for a mostly stock npi gt.

i may try zmax if i have some extra money laying around, it seems like it will work unless your cars a complete pos.

I like to use Gumout Max Clean. You only put it in every 3,000 miles because it is concentrated. Just put a bottle in everytime you change the oil. It usually runs about $6.50 a bottle.
