My stock trans was doing that quite a bit and I switched to GM Synchromesh (sp?) and it shifted allot smoother with much less noise until a powershift on slicks took it out. I think you need 3.3 quarts if your going to change the tranny fluid.

yeah i whent ahead and took it to jiffy lube and had them change the tranny fluid and the dif fluid for $100 so i got it done cheaper than what the tranny place wanted but the reverse grind is still there but the 1-2 problem whent away so that part is good but does that mean the reverse problem is my syncros?

Reverse on both of my transmissions has been a bit notchy. I always have to put it in 5th before I got to reverse and it seems to go in smoother. Seems like reverse is always tough on mustangs just a bit worse on t45s.

Reverse on the T-45 is not synchronized. Just shift it into 5th or inch it forward a bit in 1st before going to reverse. It's a common complaint.

Reverse is not synchronized. Also, make sure you are at a complete stop before going to reverse.
