What should I do about my electrical leak???
Here's the deal. I posted this awhile back that I am having trouble with my car and my number 8 fuse. I have a short somewhere that I can not find. I know that it is a bad wire because everyonce in a while, the fuse wont blow and everything works great. Then when I go over a bump I blow the fuse. I have searched my car and have figured that it is a shorting wire. I have lost the odometer, speedometer, electric locks, remote unlock, domelights, radio, and cig. lighter. I am pretty sure that I have narrowed it down to one wire in a gigantic bundle by the driver side seat and door. It runs back to the remote unlock. I tore apart the driver door and everything is fine (I hope I didnt miss anything). As I continue to check into this prob., I think that the short may be between the driver seat and the fuse box. I have been delayed because I cant really get to anything. Now, I am getting frustrated by this and am ready to possibly take it to a mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas??? What should I do and what may be a solution to this prob. By the way, I am going crazy w/ no music; just the exhaust note which is real enjoyable but not music.

I say that if you can not find it take it to a shop that specilizes in electrical work on cars. Tell them what you have done and that you are pretty sure that it is a wire that keeps grounding out when you hit bumps, and let them find the bad one and replace it. At least this way you know it will be fixed and you can be happy, and it should not cost that much, I know that the shop here will give you a free estimiate (sp?) before the do the work.

I am 99% sure that is not the case.
Heres an update:
I just called two different businesses. The first my neighbor recommended to me and he told me to take it to Ford(=big $$$$). He said that he wasn't capable of fixing it.
Next I called a guy in the Automobile Electric part of the phone book. He told me he couldn't give me an estimate (I already knew that since it is electrical). They never can just because of the nature of the prob. He told me to fix it myself. What does he think that I have been doing all this time??? He told me to do all of the stuff that I had explained that I just have done this past month. I am going to try to re wire my remote lock(one wire). I think I have isolated the prob to that wire.
In my area, it seems like the mechanics are not too eager to do work at their business. They(and that means numerous ones that I have talked to over fixing different things) tell you to do it yourself or go to Dealer. They only really give me help if I show up with a grand in cash at the door. oh well I guess I may try to do this before work tonight.
