Default cruise control broken

I was just wondering if anyone on here has had problems with their cruise control. I have replaced both the buttons and the servo. I don't know anything else to do. I bought the servo used. Does anyone know how to test out a cruise control servo? Any help would be much appreciated as I will soon be taking a 750 mile trip two ways and I hope to get this working before then.

Have you checked your connection to your throttle body? The one on my contour falls off all the time. Make sure its connected.

Well since you said you already replaced the buttons I probably wont be much of a help, but when I bought my Mustang the cruse control was very intermittent. I pulled the buttons off and the connections with the buttons where covered in dust and dirt. Cleaned that up and tada, the cruse works perfectly now.

If its a manual try starting it with out the clutch depressed if if starts then its the switch on your clutch pedal also check your fuses, It could also be the clockspring behind the steering wheel just a few places to check.

Check the cable at the TB. It's the simplest place to start before you start digging into anything. The cable on my Blazer was disconnected. Now it works fine.

Here's a link to the VSC diagnostics from the '03 shop manual...

The Tb connection is doing just fine. Also the clutch switch is working. The only other thing I could think of it what mustang man mentioned about the clock spring. The horn works just fine tho but I guess other connections might be messed up. I looked at all of the fuses and none are broken. Maybe I'll try cleaning the connectors and checking the clock spring. I'll look over that pdf tomorrow.

Dam, Cliffyk, that link is great. Thank you for posting it. I will definitely be using it when I go to fix my cruise control.
