Update: So, I finally got around to cleaning my IAC along with changing the gas cap and the CEL is still coming up. Also, The idle seems to have changed a little bit (dropping a little quicker) but still hangs at about 1900 RPM's for a couple seconds. I'm thinking this could ALL (CEL/Idle) could be linked to a vacum leak? Can anyone give me advice on the best way to find leaks? I've heard of using propane or TB cleaner but haven't ever done it.

Thanks, Chris

I doubt the gas cap was the culprit of the CEL, Its most likely a cracked line, or faulty purge solenoid.. your goin to have to get the system smoke tested to find the leak. As far as the idle, look into the "IAC mod"...Ive heard it helps with the rolling/hanging idle problems people deal with.

+1 on getting it smoke tested. the evap monitor will detect a leak as small as .020" in diameter, and there is no way you will find that without smoke.

I have been concidering that route but I hear mixed opinions. Some say it does nothing to help, some say it causes you to fail emissions, etc... Still thinking about it.

Where do I get the kit or get it done? I've never heard of that.

its a machine. dealers and some aftermarket shops have them. if you want to buy a kit most are $1000.00 or more. i would just pay to have it fixed. save yourself a headache.

^^ What he said

You cant basically do it yourself. You have to command the purge solenoid (with a scanner), then clamp off the line, then tap the smoke tester into the little green cap under the hood on the evap solenoid. Its not complicated, but its not a driveway job.
