Now one of my questions is what gears!? There is so Much Contrivery over that stuff, but i have heard a lot that i should put some 3.73's in it. I am just looking for a straight up answer for my needs. For the record im not looking to build a 10 second car, just want some extra UMP from stoplight to stoplight. Also what else can I add? So far after reading up i have in mind to get:
1-Gears
2-Intake
3-70MM Throttle Body
4-X-Pipe With Flowmaster
Just to get some input sense im new to Mustangism, is that a good start to get my pony goin? Or is there other things i should do? Oh ya, just like most people i do have a somewhat tight budget. Thanks!

Man if you're expecting to go 10's you got along way to go. 1ST mod gears... Everyone says 373's but I recommend 410's. I had 373's and didn't get that uumph that the 410's give. Also if you're planning on going with flows you will need to go with a h-pipe not a x-pipe (reason why, flows are chambered mufflers and they will sound real raspy with a x-pipe). If you want that muscular sound go with the h-pipe. After you do the gears, I would most def get a PI swap. Besides a S/C, Turbo, or Nitrous, that would be the best bang for the buck for your car... Good luck man!

I have 4.10's and a Daily driver and it aint bad at all. most of my friends that got 3.73 wish they went 4.10.
If your just looking for a lil extra go from stop light to stop light the 4.10's and bolt ons will be just fine. maybe a PI swap if your cool with that.

and for the record i get 19.78 mpg with the 4.10's in town and about 20% of that is highway. dont fear the gear.

with the 4.10's..PI swap a good susp set up and tires. theres no reason why your car cant run 12's.

oh and once again 4.10's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah alot of guys fear the gear (and yes I was one of them). The cheapest and easiest best bang for the buck are 410's.. A friend of mine has a 02 procharged gt which has 410's and the thing is a beast...

I just got my 4.10s in a few days ago and only got on it about 3 times. Defenantly a huge upgrade over the 3.27s. A PI swap will make that NPI pig seem like it was one of your old hondas if you dont mess it up like me ( 1 cracked fuel injector and 2 spark plug wires didnt carry spark) but after they were fixed the car feels so much better!

*car is a auto with 4.10s* the rpms dont seem to bad on the highway around 2k at 65 and 3k at 80

He said he WASNT looking to make it a 10 sec car. I would have to suggest gears ( 4.10), a used pi swap, then full exhaust. PS welcome to the mustang family, and Im glad you left the dark side of the force. lol jk

Gears and exhaust, then everything else will come around. 3.73 or 4.10's it doesn't really matter, one gear isn't going to make you a lot faster than the other. Like what MikeInCape said, 3.73 if you're a manual and 4.10's if you're an Auto is a good rull of thumb. If you go to the track at all, you'll run out of gear before the end of the track with a manual and 4.10s unless you go with a taller tire.

just got the stang put back together and drove it yesterday.

the x pipe,pi intake swap, and plenum/tb seemed to give the car a little more umph.

i layed down the best burnout ive did with the car, smoked 1st shifted to second and spun second a pretty long way. chirps second everytime. this is on bfw kdw's as well.

rev's alot faster with the new x pipe, the tb/plenum and pi intake made a difference in power and throttle response. car sounds way better than it did before as well,i have thrush turbos on it now which are quiet i cant wait till i get the magnaflows on.

Did you you notice Idle Hang at all?

I just noticed you told the OP to get MSD coils. BAD IDEA. I've went though 3 msd coil packs only to go back to stock when I was all said and done. There is no HP to be gained in aftermarket coil packs. Stock is fine.
