F*cked Up 3rd @ The Track...
So I went to the track Friday night and 3rd gear started grinding when I would shift into it. So when I left the track it was grinding even when I was just shifting normally. I've did some reading and I think that maybe the syncro's are bad. Not sure what these are or how to replace them, but do you guys think that this is what is wrong with 3rd? Any idea what parts I need to fix this, and were to get them.

a synchro is in the transmission...it is a little for short description a little spider looking gear that the shifter engages into....since yours is hsot you can get a rebuild done on it...and while its out you might as well beef it up with better internals....goodluck

Best bet is to Pull the Tranny and Take it to a Shop (save out on some Labor Charges). If your Really into Modding your stang, I would skip 3rd Gear for a little while (1,2,4,5) Save up and Buy a Built Tranny... TKO or Viper T56 I fixd 1-2 and 3-4 Synchros... 5 months later the 5th Gear Went.... Wish i would put the first ~700 Into the TKO....
