wouldnt it make sense to leave in the isos and leave out the spacers? doing that you shoud have a real nice drop in the front end and wont have to worry about the isos.
OP i'm glad u asked this question because I have a big suspension project coming up, and the X2's and LCA's are the only things I am worried about. I have heard nightmare installation stories about both of them.
so ok, say someone had 4cyl springs in the front, for launching. if you install the x2s, and DONT shim the spring, just leave it as is, wouldnt you be lowering the car, while still getting the full effect of using a full sized(not cut for the drop) 4cyl spring? so basically have a lowered front end, but still have all the travel of the suspension, and all the weight transfer advantages of the "drag" spring your using.... i would think this will work

Well the instructions say only to use the shim if you are lowered a certain amount. If you aren't lowered 1.75" they say you don't need to use it and if you aren't lowered like 1.25" it says DO NOT use the shim. The point of x2 ball joints is to bring the roll center of the car back down after lowering (shortening spring length), in the first place. If you switch to x2 ball joints without lowering, you will be moving the roll center of the car further away from the ideal point I would think.
