Changing Plugs and COPs
Hey, simple one here guys-
I found a cracked/damaged coil pack the other day(got my engine bay a little wet cleaning it) and this finally explains the entirely random suttle miss i would hear now and then. So i ordered a new set and i ordered some ngk tr55 plugs while i was at it. My car has 75k on it so i figured i might just as well change em all out. So my question is this, does anyone know what the tr-55s come gapped at? Is the factory something like 52 thousandths? i cant remember, i just want to double check before i do this tomorrow. Also, anything else i should check on while im in there? Keep in mind i have 75k on the clock. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

plugs should already be gapped .54 but always recheck to make sure. And make sure you buy a decent gapper or at least not a flawed one. I bought a dollar gap key ring at autozone...It seemed odd that all my ngks were out of gap from box...then... i found my real another gapper that i used to use and apparently the autozone one was crap or at least the one i bought was flawed. The autozone i was gapping at .54 and checked with my good one and it was showing .65 N E ways, if your motor is a bit dirty...hit it up with a vacuum around the cops so crap don't fall in holes. Vacuum around cops...pull cop...then vacuum again and inside hole...then remove plug and replace

...it is a popular misconception that plugs are pre-gapped from the factory,\...
The factory spec for platinum plugs is 0.054", however if you are using conventional plugs I'd tighten that up a bit to 0.045" or so. The smaller tip of the platinum plugs allows the gap to ionise at lower voltages than the fat, square end of typical tungsten electrode plugs.
