Default 4.6 not running right.

Alright guys, I've got some issues with my car.
Bout 3 weeks ago I had a nitrous backfire and blew the intake to hell.
So I replaced it.
Well when I did evenidently a bolt fell down the number 8 intake runner on the head.(I didn't know this untill about a week ago when it lodged itself in the valve.) So I pulled the head and got it out. (I pulled the whole motor to replace it. Figured it'd be easier.) I didn't know that this is what was wrong with it untill I pulled the head. I thought it was a bent valve or something.
Well I got everything buttoned up...
AND IT RAN LIKE ****!!!
Has a real rough shaky idle and the exhaust sounds really weird. But it does have nice power when you get on it. But the exhaust still sounds like ****
No check engine light.

I figured, ok maybe timing chains are on wrong. So I pulled the front cover. Chains did seem a bit worn out. So I replaced them.

IT STILLS RUNS LIKE ****!!

This time I also noticed that there was a bit of water coming out of the exhaust. Not sure why.
will be running a compression test tomorrow.

Someone please help.
I'm about ready to use this damn motor as a boat anchor.

Thanks,
Josh

Was the valve seat damaged? Did you replace the valve?

No sirrr.
No damage to the valve seat and did not replace the valve.
I'll be running a compression test today. I'll post the results ASAP.

Anyone else have any ideas??

something could have gotten down into the cylinder and scored the walls. that would cause a poor ring seal thus lack of compression. but you will figure that out when you do a compression check. if everything is tight then nothing to worry about. you could have forgotten to plug in a sensor or hooked up a spark plug wire to the wrong cylinder. just some ideas.

prob a screwed valve, but you did say that you replaced time chains....could it be out of time ? which might mean that you bent a valve or two anyway

I'm 99.9% sure those timing chains are on there right.
If it had a bent valve wouldn't it not have compression??
The leak down should answer my questions...
