New Short Block

RE: New Short Block
i took a print out of the dss Supermod block i was looking at to the shop doing my work for their opinion. they called fps and they were able to build me a short block cheaper with dished pistons, and a cobra crank. after i ordered my block from him i saw another one of his blocks (not 4.6l 2v) on Horsepower tv (spike). but i'd say its at least worth a call.

VT, MPH or DSS.
VT, MPH or DSS.
these guys are the best, unless you know a closer shop to you that can build one, like in my case, Steen racing.
decide what you want to do, if your going for N/A, i'd say go stroker, and get some extra torque. a VT aluminum 324 has made 400 ft lbs in an N/A application. but it's a 6K shortblock. aluminum will save you weight but cost more. but an iron 302 stroker is probably your best bet.

if your going boost than those guys block are no better than the one you have....I used them for parts when I'm in a pinch..I just buy the crank assly.....are you sure it's a rod or the piston slap that comes with the early 4.6's
