Default Need more information about possible engine combos.

I will start this thread off by saying I'm still learning about the modular setup and really only have basic info on carb engines. I have searched and have not come across the information I am looking for.

The car is an 03 gt that started out as an auto, the suspension should be finished/ordered soon, so I'm starting to look elsewhere. The car is now an 03 gt with t56 tranny and irs rear, I will be swapping out the bilstein coilovers with tokico d-spec coilovers and going with a tubular k, mm a-arms, and solid steering input shaft. The car is mainly a DD but I do goto autox/hpde/soloII events.

With all of that being said, I'm currently looking into 3 options with budget not being a huge issue as all 3 fit within what I'd like to do.

1) built 2v (lightweight components for quicker revs/downshifts) and a novi2000. The reason behind the two is that the novi will allow me to still be able to dd the car without too many issues with traction and whatnot.

2) built bottom end with lightweight components, 3v conversion, and a novi2000 setup.

3) look for a used 03-04 longblock ($3k-$5k),rebuild if necessary, swap, and get a novi2000 for it.

Main reason why a novi2000 is at the top of the list as far as blowers goes is because my buddies shop has an account with paxton and can get me a pretty nice discount on it. Labor for the installing the engine is not too much of an issue as my buddy can do that at his shop for me, but the engine build will be handled by either rpm-engines or AED, both are a local shop that are sponsors of the local mustang club I'm in.

What I'm looking for is opinions on what would get me the most reliable, long lasting, bang for the buck, and best option for what I intend to use it for.

Thanks in advance if you guys post, sorry for the long post.

Although the pistons are better in a 3v, I still would stay away from the stock tunic.

Go for the built 2v and just throw boost at it. You can have a nice performer with 450-500hp car with nothing more than fuel, boost, cams and exhaust.

If yous wants a 5.0 I know of a longblock from tucson for 200 bucks

Otherwise, i just say build the 4.6 and novi2000 it.

easily see 500+rwhp and 30mpg on the highway, and 7000RPM with damn good reliability.

I have thought about that, but I am wondering how much easier it is for a dd with either a 3v or 4v to attain higher power levels with lower boost numbers.

7000rpm? lols not looking for anything that high. I am mainly looking for reliability and practicality (reliability).

Thanks for the input guys, I'm not so concerned with the money aspect as all 3 fall within the budget I've estimated, just wondering if there are reasons I should stay away from 1 or chose 1 over the others.
