Default A few tuner questions

Hey guys, have a few questions about tuners, hope I can get less confused about them before I go out and buy one lol

I don't want to do a ton, I just need to turn off my rear O2 sensors so it doesn't kick my check engline light and also correct the speedo for 4.10 gears. In the future change a few options for N2O when I finally get it installed.

1) Is there support out there so I can download some prepackaged tunes for free? (93 octane, 4.10 gears, turn off rear O2 sensors, N2O, etc.)
2) If I don't know anything about tuning, should I shell out the extra money and buy a tuner on americanmuscle.com and get their tunes for life deal, or can I do the basic stuff myself?
3) Do I have to leave it plugged into my car at all times?
4) When I run my nitrous and randomly decide I need it to smoke some fool on the street, do I have to plug the thing in, set it to nitrous, and then go?
5) Are there settings I can change to better compensate for little things such as a o/r X-pipe and K&N filter?
6) SCT vs DiabloSport, are there enough differences to where I'll cry if I went with the one I get a better deal on rather than the other?

Sorry I'm a total nub at this, thanks for your time!

First of all, if you have some mustang performance shops in your area: CALL THEM. Find out what tuner they use incase you ever want a dyno tune.

You sound like a prime candidate for a Brenspeed canned tune at the moment.

I always recommend the Sniper brand of tuners. They re not as big of a tuning company as Diablo and SCT but I believe in their product and customer service. Their software is just amazing when compared dollar for dollar with any other tuner.

What he says is pure win. I have a o/r h, no rear 02's (duh), and getting 4.10s. All you do is sit down at your PC, click in the drop down that I now have a catless h, select "no" in rear 02's present and badabing I'm done, then I just upload the tune to the module and from the module to the car. It holds 5 or 6 tunes at a time, one of which is your stock tune. So that way you can have your car tuned for street driving, get to the track, reprogram for race tune(s) and switch it back for the ride home. I love mine, would highly recommend getting sniper for a DIY tune. If you are looking at dyno tunes in the future, then I would recommend either SCT or Diablo, depending on what the speed shops in your area use. The reason being, you don't want to spend $400 on a tuner only to find out John Does Tuning uses the other brand. Either they charge you more, you have to buy another one, or drive further out for the right guy.

Just realized it was a MM video, just ignore that little fact.

Great post....but with a sniper is getting someone to dyno tune the car alot harder as most don't normally use it?
