I ADMIT I AM SPOILED. lol!! I have a 97 GT convertible and would like to upgrade the center console area so that it contains 2 cup holders instead of 1.

I split my time driving a 99 Honda Accord which has 2 cup holders in its center console and the mustang, which has a stupid pull out in the storage area. So my question is this: is it possible to purchase a newer console and if so which year would you recommend.

I have seen somewhere on the internet that you can alter the ashtray into a cup holder but don't really like the looks of it. So are there other options?

My 98 has two of them...

You would have to get a center console out of a 98-04 becuse in 98 they changed to the two cup holders and they also removed the clock on top of the dash.

while were on the cupholder topic, does anyone know where i can get that little container that goes in the cupholder with the lid that u can put coins in and junk> all mustang i see have them...but not mine...

that container with the lid was actually part of the smokers package that you could get. i had it in my 2000, but since I don't smoke I opted out of it on the 04. saved a whopping $35.

My '98 has 2 cup holders but I wish I had the clock that is on the center of the dash in the earlier Mustangs. My buddy has one and it looks cool.
