Default Fuel filter location? 1996 GT

I'm having a hard time locating the fuel filter. 1996 Mustang GT.
Pictures would be appreciated as well.
Thanks.

I have an '02 and is located above the rear axle. I figure it is probably in the same location for you.

As stated above.. Check above your rear axle toward front of your gas tank..

On my '98 GT it was behind the gas tank (to the front of the car)

Make sure you have some rags around for fuel, all of the fuel will drain out of the filter.

Thank you very much. I felt like a douche after I crawled underneaths and seen it. Don't know how I missed it.

Easier than changing a tire.
