Default What if I change my tranny fluid?

My tranny is grinding into second and third. Is it a good idea to change my fluid before considering a tranny swap?

If it's grinding then your synchro's are shot. You can go ahead and try to change the tranny fluid but don't get your hopes up.

Don't think transmission fluid is going to make a difference if it's already grinding...

Well, if the fluid level is topped off, and the clutch is fully adjusted and operating, then your just wasting your time.

I had changed my fluid with the normal stuff, and it still felt like it was "cold shifting" all the time, so I switched to syncromesh and it would be fine for a couple weeks then start feeling the same again. I then switched to M1 full synthetic and I haven't had an issue yet.

obviously not the same issue as the op but close
