WOW engine blew on me...
hey guys i havent been on here in a while but im back with a huge problem-o...
i was going to sell my 02 today and 25 mins into the sales talks and the guy tells me my car is over heating...
Its never happened to this car since i bought it so i laughed at him and was like no way man this car is solid...
so i go over to the gauge and the needle is almost hitting "H" i was like OMG turn it off!
so were checking it over and there is bits of oil on top of the valve cover bolts bubbling up...
what kind of problem do you guys think it could be?
i mean it has 112k miles but i maintain this car more than i do myself...
Any help is very appreciated...
i guess the car doesnt want to leave the family but this is not the way to stay lol...

Yep, definitely blown. I'll take it off your hands for $1,000.
Seriously though, you need to check into it a little more - nobody can help you on here when all you give for info is "oil bubbling up from valve cover bolts."
^If it doesn't knock and runs ok, check to see if your thermostat is opening. The upper radiator hose should get nice and hot at some point when it does open.
Give more info, check to see if there's oil in the coolant or vice versa. Good luck.

Probably not blown. Could be a water pump or a fan. If it happened all at once without warning its most likely a stuck thermostat. I had to do an "emergency" repair once by taking the old thermostat out and running without one until I could get to a parts store.
Mechanical waterpumps usually give you a warning by leaking and making noise. A lot of times you will see the tempature gage cycle up and down.
The fan can be checked by turning on the a/c. If the fan is out the tempature gage will go up when driving is slow traffic and go back down at highway speeds.
