Default 2002 gt mustang a/c compressor replaced and still not working

So my a/c compressor went out and i decided to replace everything that deals with the ac. I replaced every line from low pressure to high pressure. Bought a new compressor and dryer and everything. I recharged the system and it took almost 28oz of freon and the system needs 34oz. Now my problem is with all this done the compressor will not engage what so ever to run the freon back through the system. So i checked the fuses # 23 underneath the dash and that one was fine and also the fuse in the power distribution box underneath the hood #24 and that one is fine. All this work and still the compressor wont turn on. DOes anybody at all know why this is such a problem or if i am missing anything else????

You try the compressor relay switch? I had a similar problem in my 97 GT and the switch solved it. $15 part

Hmmm you really should have had the system evacuated (of atmosphere) before charging.

Without pulling a vacuum before you charged it, you run the risk of having water vapor developing in the lines and ****ing up your compressor.

Also, did you drain the oil out of the old compressor and put it in the new one?

And it's not really the best diagnostic technique to just throw parts at a car and hope one of them fixes it. You waste a lot of money that way.

I just re-read your post, and you say you put 24oz in? I'm almost positive that these cars only take 1lb of refrigerant. Most cars don't take more than 1lb (16oz). If you put too much in the compressor won't kick on. Evacuate and re-charge again to 1lb and see what happens.

we checked the wiring going to the compressor, we bypassed the low pressure sensor and the voltage going to the compressor is at 0. do you know anything about the high pressure sensor..

also i only started with 1 bottle which is 14oz and the compressor never kicked on. I added more thinking it would but it never did. I could only fit 28oz before the lines equalized. also on the car it says to put 2 pounds 2 oz into the system so it has to be more then 1 pound.
