I just bought a 02 GT today and I get it tomorrow. I've been seeing on the internet that it has the 5 spd w/OD... Where is the OD button or how does it engage? Is the 5th gear just considered the OD? I looked for it all over the console and dashboard but I'm lost with it. Just figured I'd ask before I drive her home tomorrow. Thanks guys...

Fifth gear is the overdrive.

Twas what I thought.. thank you. I'm still mastering a stick so what speed do you usually throw it into 5th? Like just highway cruising or what? I'm 16 and I learned stick on my dad's '86 vette (the zr-51) so it has the tight gear ratios. its a 4spd with an electric overdrive on each gear.

I usually throw it in to 5th for 55+ mph, for cruising like you said.

Congrats on the new car man. Have fun with it. And the OD button is only on autos. It's on the botton of the shifter. lol. Just a random fact for ya. On GT's the 5th gear is overdrive and on the cobras 6th and maybe 5th (don't remember if thats correct, I think it has two overdrives ) is the overdrive. Another fact for ya. Anyways have fun!!
