Remove clutch fork without dropping trans possible?
as the title says, is it possible to remove the clutch for without dropping the transmission. If i had the vehicle in front of me i would just try it to see if it can come out. i think its got a bent pivot ball clip. If i remember correctly it looks like it could be pulled away from the transmission off the pivot ball and then pushed toward the transmission and off the TO bearing and then pulled out through the fork hole, but i'm not sure if it has enough room to come off the TO bearing.
Even if it were possible, it'd be a hell of a lot easier to just take the tranny out. These transmissions come out relatively easy. Trying to do it with the tranny in the car is like rebuilding the shortblock with the motor in the car. Possible, but a huge PITA.
I did a piston and rod on a Caddy CTS with the motor in the car. Sucked ***. But those motors come out through the bottom with the engine, trans, and cradle attached. So I just pulled the head (relatively easy) and the pan and the crank and did it.

The fork won't come out without dropping the trans. It disconnects from the pivot point, then has to slide off of the input shaft. The input shaft is going into the crank, so no way to slide it off.
