Default 1996 GT exhaust

ok so i have a 96 gt with ceramic coated bbk shorty headers and i want to run either a straight pipe or an O/R X or H pipe. which is the better way to go for HP? and is it true that i will loose low end acceleration? i am also curious as to which mufflers would give me the meanest deep sound if i go with the X or H pipe.

as everyone else will say. Youtube is the best place to go to get an idea of what different exhaust sound like. Personally, i think that flowmaster 40's are the way to go. I have been wanting a set for a awhile, it just hasn't been in the budget.
