p0420 & p0430?
i keep getting these same codes all the time. i have a code reader and just turn them off when the check engine light comes on. i know its something bout my cats and efficiency. i have a bassani x pipe with hi-flow cats on a 04 gt. this has been going for a couple months.
my question, is this a problem that needs to be fixed soon? and how can i fix it? will it hurt the engine? can i just keep deleting these codes when they come on?

High flow cats will sometimes trip that code. It all depends. You can either get a tuner and shut off the rear O2 sensors and get MIL eliminators to shut the light off. And no it will not hurt your car. Its just annoying looking at that light all the time. The only had thing bout the light being on all the time is that you will not know when something else goes wrong unrelated to those 2 codes.

aight cool, i guess ill keep turning it off till i get a tuner. what bout emissions? i live anne arundel county md. i know i shouldnt go there with the check engine light on (obvi i will delete the codes before i go), but can they still fail me?

You cant just turn it off and go. That resets the emission monitoring systems and when they plug their computer into you OBD2 port it will show they are not ready and they will fail you. As for visual inspection you will be fine. You can make your own MIL eliminators if you want for like 5 bucks.
