You can't just get there.....start modding, learn as much about your car as you can. Once you are at that point, then you won't have to ask what it takes....you will know.

Wrong...There are plenty of cobras out there that are running 10's with the AC...lots of LS1's too, my brother's for instance.

It will take either a custom built engine with a serious rotary assembly. I huge blower. A beefy tranny and a beefy rearend with beefy axles. Pretty much ***** to the walls power that has everything to support it and a serious weight reduction. Oh yeah, 10 seconds cars don't come with air conditioning unless you buy a Ford GT.

The engine is the easiest and cheapest part of getting a car into the 10's.
However, the alterations to the transmission, gearing, axles, chassis, and suspension are quite expensive!

Before I decided to sell my car, I had a complete blueprint of my engine made (so to speak). It was going to cost 4300 installed to have stage 3 blower cams, stage 3 heads, complete forged internals (with billiet rods), forged crank, and a new CNC block. The blower was going to be another 4700 (only cuz I was goin KB), you can find centrifugal blowers for much cheaper, that give out much more power...so the totals would be like 9k for a KB, and like 7500 for a ATI. Oh, by the way, the engine I had blueprinted was supposed to lay down around 800 flywheel hp.

The reason I decided not to, is because after looking at all of the things that needed to be replaced (down to the stock motor mounts), that was going to run me an easy 10-12k asside from the engine.

I disagree with that whole ur an idiot if u ask and u dont know what it takes crap. Well obviously he doesnt know or he wouldnt ask the question. I think it is very intelligent to ask these things before he just starts bolting stuff on his car. I wish i would have asked more questions about the things on my car. I wish i would have gotten 4.10's, Lt headers, hpipe, and bassani mufflers instead of my 3.73's, shorties, flows and an xpipe. My latest mod(tb and plenum polishing) came about after doing alot of research and asking alot of questions. For the first time, i am happy with my decision. Keep that if u ask then youre an idiot noob junk to urself

No, it's good to have a plan for your car, less money spent on unneccesary mods: i.e. buying U/D pulleys if you want to go S/C. The best way to do it is to build a 2nd motor while leaving your car alone. Do the necessary suspension/rear-end/trans mods, then drop the new motor and trans assembly into the car.

Downtime is a killer, esp. if you only have one car.

I wasnt solely directing that comment to JB. It just makes me mad how all the money i spent on my car just wasnt well spent. If i would took the time to ask then it woulda been a whole lot easier and worthwhile. But anyways I didnt mean to offend anyone, i just dont like the whole mentality. You can think whatever you want. But to Guarnibl, id be glad to let you know about any mod ur even thinking about. Just ask. you will get the if you dont know what an air silencer is then you dont have what it takes to get .75 hp crap, but you will also get input from people who really know what they are talking about from experience with that part on their car. Good luck

You dont have to Supercharge to see 11's. You could get there w/ alot of motor and alot of suspension. W/out Nitrous, Turbo, or Blower. Im talkin 11's not 10's.
