Default Play in the shifter

I have a 5 speed mustang with a pro 5.0 shifter. I noticed that the shifter itself is loose, so I pulled up the boot and hand tightened the two round black things on the left side of the shifter. What tool do you guys use to get an extremely snug fit with these shifters? I kind of don't want to use needle nose or a wrench.

I have a B&M and the same thing happened to me a couple times. I don't know if it's the same but it's two allen head bolts on mine. I just use the right allen wrench with a little pipe at the end and threadlock

Looking at the picture, it looks like allen head bolts to me.

yeah then I guess the proper way is to have a set of hex sockets and a 3/8 ratchet but if you don't have a set (like me) try what I said it's been holding up well for a while.
