Default Motor Swap

I was wondering whats the biggest motor you can throw into a 2000 Mustang GT body? im going to be building it from the block up so what is the biggest i can get and still fit in the car without cutting the entire thing apart.

I don't understand. Why are you doing an engine swap based on the size of an engine?

We have a forum member on here (sorry I don't recall the name) that is putting in a 460, is that big enough for your swap?

i dont know about the BIGGEST, but theres the 4v 5.4l navigator motor. all the 5.4l motors are a strait drop in with very little modification required (search, theres a nice how-to write up). and i remember an article with a guy who wanted to stay N/A and still have a hoss drag car out of his old cobra. had 593 rwhp without nitrous or f/i using that motor, so its capable of some very nice numbers on just the motor.

however, i would consider using the 3v or maybe even the 2v for the swap unless your balling. those swaps will be a little easier, cams and heads will be cheaper and with the money you save on those u can put a blower on your built 2/3v and have more power than you need. and once you have a blower it doesnt matter which platform your on because your going to be able to put as much power down as your block can handle.

The 460 is going to be the biggest Ford motor you can fit in there, with it you can get damn close to 600 cubes if I am not mistaken. I think the 5.4 4v is tighter fit than the 460.
