Default Speedometer Calibration ??

I have a 03 GT. Noticed that the speedometer is off about 15mph. Is there anyway i can fix it, or where can i go get this fixed. I'm constantly trying to judge how fast im going in order to not get pulled over. Any help is appreciated.

i personally just guess, or use my GPS.
alternatively you could take it to a ford dealership, or someone who knows how to program the computer (ask shops). there's also alot of tuners that have the option to set speedo based on tire size and rear gear differential.

there's also a thing called speedcal, IIRC it was about 99$. lil pricey for me.

there a reason your speedometer is off by 15?

Speedcal is cheaper than a tuner.

mmm yea, but if your gunna get a tuner anyways down the line, the money is better spent elsewhere. and ultimately i think i would rather just take it to a shop, i meant to have it done while they did the emissions on mine (bleh) he said it was only like 25$ if it was done then. but it was my dad who was takin care of my car at the time and he forgot to remind the guy.

You have to either buy a handheld tuner or use a speed calibrator. You can't just take it to a shop and have them recalibrate it. The handheld is much easier and more reliable, but cost 3 times as much as a speed calibrator. Go to americanmuscle.com, they have both options. You're going to have to figure out why your speedometer is off though, as in, which gears you're running that threw it off to begin with.
