before changing battery check out this post <click here> and scroll down to cliffys reply , i had the same issue and this took care of it. i checked all of my fuses when i did and found a bad one though cant say for sure it was the same one but it worked.

I replaced the fuses and the gauge stops resetting but there's a catch. If I leave the car off for ~3 hours or more, the guage will still reset. If I restart the car before 3 hours, it won't reset.
Note that ~3 hours is my estimation.
Any thoughts?

The red-top optima battery is good and has awesome warranty! If you have a stock stereo system and no subwoffers, then you're better off with the stock replacement. Reason I say that the red-top is good, is because I played music full blast at my buddies with the car off for about 45min and the car didn't even hesitate to start. Good batteries!

Any ideas why it does what it does? I'll get right on it before my car dies on me that's for sure.
I just have the mach 460 system and pretty happy with it. So, I think regular batt will suffice. Thanks for the suggestion.
