alternator problem please help!!!!!!!

Exclamation alternator problem please help!!!!!!!

ok so i changed my underdrive pulleys to steeda and i tune the car to 93 using the diablosport predator about 2 weeks later the car dies on me i took it to discount auto parts they said my battery was good but my alternator was badd so i bought a brand new 130a alternator which i installed yesterday the car started but 2 blocks away it died again we pushed started it and it would die again like if something was draing the battery i went this morning abd bought an optima yellow top battery it works perfectly fine but when they checked the alternator the guy says that its not charging and its brand new from American MUscle i checked all the fuses and there fine and i check both cables that go on the alternator and its fine i even put back the stock alternator pulley, dose aome one have any ideas what it could be?? please anything would help its my daily driver and im stuck for now

sounds like you got a bad alternator from AM. i would call there tech line and see what they say

Here's the charging system overview:



You should check the fusible links, and the 20A fuse in the battery junction box--the generator¹ will not charge the battery if the fusible links (both) or the fuse are blown.

¹ - Yes it is a generator, most of what we call alternators in modern cars are actually generators. Alternators produce AC voltage, generators DC.

Back when the rectifying diodes were external to the rotating unit they were alternators, but now that they are internal the unit is a generator--Ford started using the proper terminology in the late '90s.

Yea, AM is really good with their customer service. So give them a call and see what they say.

i called am and they said to check the wires if not theyll send me another one new i really hop its nothing difficult, if it is the wires/harness is that hard to replace where can i find that? thanks
