Default mechanical spedo vs electronic question (help)

Hey guys I just swapped the stock t-45 out of my 96 Gt for a fresh rebuilt. Long story short the spedo cable will not plug into the bottom of the tranny, It appears to be a a newer transmission with the electronic connection...Do they sell an adapter??
Any help will be great!
Thanks

you sure its a 96 gt tranny? I dont think they sell any adapter for that. Our generation cars dont have electronic speedos as far as i know so i dont see how you could evem hook it up. I think you just need to swap the connection to the mechanical one.

you have a t45 from the new edges, not a big deal, but you need to swap the tail shaft cover and drive gear from your 96 t45 tranny (hopefully you still have it) here is a great step by step Popeye54k made going from a 96-98 t45 tail shaft cover to a 99-01 t45. Hope that helps
