Default Need new tires ASAP....275's ???

After an unfortunate tire issue this weekend, I have been forced to speed up my tire decisions and purchase as soon as possible. I am planning on purchasing my tires tonight so they will be here by next weekend. I ran over a nail and had to bring the tire in for repair because it was so low. Had the tire repaired and we took a look at the condition, and the rear tires are in REALLY bad shape. There is still some tread left, but casing/tread bond is ripping apart. These are on the stock Goodyears, and are the original tires with almost exactly 40,000 miles on them. I was going to wait until I have enough cash for wheels to get with them so that I can get larger tires all the way around, but I need to purchase NOW.

I have been wanting to go with 275's all the way around, but didn't want to squeeze them onto an 8" stock rim. After looking at nearly every tire manufacturer specifications for the tires that I'm looking at, ALL of them say that the max tire that they have which will fit safely on an 8" rim is a 255. For a 275, they ALL suggest a 9-11in rim width. I plan on getting new wheels within a couple months, or may push it off till longer if it's not a necessity.

I understand that many people on this board and others have SQUEEZED 275's on the stock 8" rims. I really did not want to do this, but under the current situation I'm willing to do it temporarily until I get the larger wheels to accomodate them. Otherwise I will be getting 255's until next time I need tires.

Does anyone have pictures of their 275's on the stock 8" rim ?

Has anyone experience or seen any issues from doing this ?

FYI...tires I'm looking into at the moment are Kuhmo Ecsta MX's.

I just got Kumho Ecsta 712 275's for the rear from Discount Tires and they got them in without any trouble. Go for it.

I should add, I've had no problems and no unusual wear.

The sidewalls are 'rolled' out, they stick out a bit, so you need to pay attention to pot holes, won't be all that hard to pinch the sidewall and pop a tire. I haven't had it happen though...
