Default Shorty Headers

I Installed a set of shorty headers on my 02 GT a few weeks ago. About a week after I installed them they started clicking really bad. I figured some of the bolts may have just come loose, so I tightened them all up. No clicking for a few days, then slowly they started clicking again. Last week I decided the bolts that came with the headers were too short. (They are only about 3/4" if that) So i got a set of bolts that were about 1 1/4". Right after I installed them, the car sounded good. But after 20 miles or so it sounded just as bad as before I replaced the bolts. I've pretty much decided I blew one of the header gaskets. I found a set of ford racing header gasket replacements on summit racings website, but they come with bolts that look to be the same length as what came with my headers. Are the gaskets my problem and not the bolts? (whenever I went and tightened up the bolts, a few seemed to be pretty loose, keep that in mind)

Personally, i would just by the OEM gaskets, and some stage 8 locking bolts. With that combo, you should be good.

Well I figure if they are made by ford racing they will be just as good if not better than OEM. And what are locking bolts?

Turns out my gaskets were the problem. I used a set of fel pro gaskets along with the longer bolts that I picked up. No leaks whatsoever and it sounds good.
