Question 96 rear end in a 2000 mustang

A buddy of mine has a 2000 v6 mustang looking to do a V8 swap on it. He found a rear end from a 96 mustang with 3.73s in it. He was wondering if it will fit in his car. If I remember correctly, i think the 96-98 rears were a little narrower than the 99-04 rears. Can someone let me know. Thanks

Well it bolt in? Yes. Is the 96 narrower? Yes
But you can run spacers or different back spacing on the rear tires.

Yeah, should bolt right up. And you're right about it being narrower, I'm not sure how by much though, maybe like 1.5" overall. Pretty sure that can be overcome by the use of wheel spacers if necessary.

Maybe not. Just one of my pet peeves when someone post with out reading the entire thread. I hate reading a thread that has 4 pages and 3 pages of the thread is 20 different retards posting the exact same answer.
