Question Tire rubbing issues.

Hey all.

I bought a black 1996 Mustang GT about 2 months ago.

Love the car and all but every used car is going to have those little imperfections that'll get on your nerves every once in a while.

So here is the deal, when i bought the car, it had some black 03' cobra rims on it. The front tires are 235's and the rears are 275's.
The problem i have is i get a rubbing noise and feel when I turn the steering wheel probably 75% and on. The previous owner put some spacers on the front, which are about 3/8th's of a inch thick as far as i can tell. He said that prevented some of the rubbing but not all of it.

So my question would be if there is anything that i can do to fix this? The rubbing is annoying and i plan on getting new tires soon and i dont want the rubbing messing up the tires.
Is 235's really that wide to rub perpetually? Or is there an easy fix? or any fix at all?
I might add that it is on stock springs and coilovers (might be looking to get a suspension kit soon w/ lowering shocks and coilovers)

I greatly appreciate any help that you guys can toss my way. I look forward to becoming active on this site!

Thanks ahead of time!

**btw why are there iroc camaro smilies on this site but no stangs? hahah**

I dont think 235's are too wide duder. Maybe you need some different spacers. I'm pretty sure I'm running 235 or 245 on the front of my car and I have no rubbing issues. Is the car lowered much?

Hmmm maybe it has something to do with my suspension or steering? The previous owner gave me a receipt showing me that he got the steering components replaced recently so idk.

What size spacer do you have?

So it is sounding like it is either a suspension or steering issue What do you guys think?

BTW as asked, i am on stock springs coilovers and all. The coilovers are new stockers tho.

im lowered around 1.5-2 inches and still have no problems. I think something might be off with you front. Honestly i only know motor/drivetrain stuff haha. Jazzer is my suspension/tire phone a friend. Maybe he can help you out.

Find out where it is rubbing, but it sounds like the spacers are the problem. They may have the tires pushed out to far and they are rubbing on the fender skirt.
I have 275's up front, lowered 1 inch and run 5 degrees of camber and I barly rub the rear part of the fender skirt.

I have 235-50-17's in the front
and 275-40-17's in the rear (< not that it matters)

So it looks like my "tire rubbing issues" is a "rim rubbing issue" hahaha Damn
