Default Chirping noise from inside engine???

So I was driving to class today, and I have into temptation and raced the new GTI at the light (needless to say I pulled on him), I was shifting kinda hard and when I let up my engine started making a chirping noise. It's coming from inside the motor I want to say to the back? I can only here it when I rev it or when I am hitting the gas. I just parked the car and am on campus killing some time before class thought I'd ask you all what you thought. It might go away when I start the car but I was just wondering why it did that in the first place. 96 Mustang GT 5 speed (bolt ons)

Just sounds like a slipping fan belt. Or it could be a water pump bearing.

its coming from inside the motor so I doubt its the fan belt slipping....why would it start happened after hard driving? This is the first time I went above 3k rpm's since I've owned it & the car sat for 4 months b4 I bought it....maybe that has something to do with it??? How can I check if its the waterpump bearing??

throwout bearings sound like chirping also. a simple way to disprove me is to push in the clutch pedal. if the noise goes away then i am right and your TOB is going. if im wrong then i give you permission to beat me with a stick
