Default Head work

I went to see a guy last night about getting my internals done for boost, and he told me that while im at it i should spend the 3 or 4000 to get the stock heads worked on, o-ringd, etc while the engine is out because he told me that the heads wont come off unless you pull the motor out... something about the studs or boltsbeing so long. I read something in hotrod magazine that roundabout said u could pull em out with the motor in the car. Does anyone know if this is true? and is it also true that the motor on the late model mustangs needs to be pulled out the bottom of the car? One of my friends later told me that this guy is a crook because of his astronomical prices for middle of the road work. Anyway, are either of these statements of his true, because if i spend 8 orso grandon the forged internals being balanced and all, i dont wanna have to spend the extra 3 or 4 at the same time because to be honest, that is a $h!tload of money to spend at one time

Dude, your posts are worthless, i cant believe you waste our time.... do u think i didnt know that? all that will be left from ford will be the block... thats is, o and maybe the oil pan, but i may need to change that too.... I aint dumb, and i dont care about the warranty once i do that... Warranty is void with a blower too, i dont care... do u really think i expect my warranty to be intact for a hardly street legal drag car that isnthardly a ford anymore?

don't know about the heads but the motor can be pulled out of the top as well as the bottom.

Yep.

Here's an ideatoo you might try. Place a floor jack underneath the oil pan with a block of wood between the jack and the pan (so you don't puncture it) and raise the engine a little, and see if the heads will come off then. Don't forget to unbolt the motor mounts first!

Yes, you can pull the heads out without taking the motor out. It is a cramped space, but it can be done with time and patience.
