Default Window problem.........

I have a 2002 Mustang GT, and the drivers side window went out like a year ago. When i press the window button down all it make is sort of a ticking/clicking sound and its loud, like its stuck or something. So I decide to buy a new window motor. i put in the new window motor and it is still making that sound. If i push the window down with my hand the motor will raise the window up but wont go down it will just make that noise. i plugged my old motor in and tested it to see if it works and it does. so i bought the wrong part. what could be wrong with it. maybe the window regulator? or the hinges that hold the window with glue i only see two, one in the middle, and one on the right bottom. there is like no support for the left side of the window could that be it? please help i really want my window to roll down, its hot out here in Texas

Window regulator. I just bought one a couple months ago from Rock Auto, it was like $60. My local wrench charged 0.7 hrs labor to install. The problem I had was, is there's a curved piece of steel, with teeth on it, about 8 inches long that the sprocket on the motor connects to that had broken off of the regulator assembly. It's connected to the regulator by three tack welds, and one by one each one broke until the piece just fell off completely and landed at the bottom of the door. When it was just one or two of those welds that had broke, it was misaligned and made the loud clacking noise you're experiencing.
