Sorry, I don't mean for the actual repair; I mean will having a blown car make it more likely to blow out the repair?

Thanks!

Yes, forced induction places added stress and strain on every power train component--however if a Timsert were used as the repair I would not be concerned.

Helicoils suck on lawn mowers, so thats a whole different thing...

Yes, yes it will.

That's why this happens to 03 and 04 Cobras more than frequently than Mach 1 or a GT.

Two options from the shop; either a helicoil, which will cost in the 300 range (rough) or pull off the head and replace it, which is 9 hours of labor and EXPENSIVE.

I am leaning towards the cheaper fix, especially because I only put a thousand miles a year on the car max and I am a teacher and make crap money

Anyone have any experiences with this sort of thing that might be able to offer any advice or info that might help?

Thanks!
There is a kit you can buy from autopart stores pretty cheap. I had my mechanic fix this on my car with one of my spark plugs for like 30$. He did it with the head still on the car but I haven't had any problems with it since.
