Default sub frame question

today i went to go put my sub frame's on when put them on to test fit the front was pretty good but the back had about a inch gap between the rail and the torque box on the instructions said to weld the back on first then jack up the front until the rail sits flat against the car does that sound right by the way i have full length connecters

Make sure the car is level and the suspension is fully loaded before welding in the connectors. If you 're using a lift, make sure its the drive-on type. If you 're using jack stands, be sure to place them directly under the rear axle and place ramps under the front wheels. Again, you want the suspension/wheels to support the total weight of the car. If the car is already properly supported and the gap is still there, then yes, something is probably bent. This is a faily common situation with unibody cars, especially Mustangs built before 2005.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the tool shed but seems as though, if you bend/cut/alter any kind of suspension piece (especailly subframes) you would/could somehow affect the integrity of the piece..Just my two cents..

What method did you use to lift the car? Did you use jack stands, ramps or a car lift?
