well you can do the math yourself. the heads are 2 grand, cams are about 600, mmr block is 2500 for the base with no added goodies, bout 800 for the manifold. thats 6 grand easy without even putting shipping or any upgraded parts. plus he had to buy gaskets, i'm sure he got valvesprings and stuff like for his cams, so there will be other misc costs, plus paying for installation of the heads/cams onto the motor atleast, getting a dyno tune, etc...

Its not too hard for the 4v but an increase in displacement is the way to go.

Apparently he had some personal issues... he even stopped all the sidework he did for a while (porting heads and intakes etc etc). I've heard he's back but can't verify, i've talked to Carlos in the past about his builds.

Hopefully this time next year im making 420+whp all motor.

Out of curiousity, what would a full bolt on cammed N/A car make without new cylinder heads or borring out the engine?

a 2v would make about 300rwhp
a 4v, with a ported short runner would make anywhere from 360-380..depends on the cams and how long the runners are on the intake.

hmmm....good to know- its interesting what a difference 2 extra valves make. I guess that means I know what I need to buy in order to hit my goal of 300rwhp.

i want to do that too but i at the same time i want to stick with my 2 valve cuz it feels like everyone is all over the 4v's and it makes want to stick with the underdog lol.

I'd rather stick with my 2V. I agree with EI, theres something about an underdog. Plus I'm not a fan of the idea of swapping engines.
