What is the most power you will ever think you might run out of the car? If 500rwhp is the max the car will ever see, you would be a fool to spend the extra coin on any set of heads especially running a turbo. A good set of Cams and valve springs is all you would need on top of a decent amount of boost. People have made well over 600rwhp on the stock PI heads with forced induction.

if you have the stock heads/cams from 99-04 2V you should be able to pull off 500rwhp just from boost. if my motor was built in my 02 GT, and I cranked the boost to 12psi, I'm convinced I would be nipping at 500.

2Vs get less credit than they deserve.. you can definitely get a lot of goodies out of em.

Yeah youd probly need 14 PSI and a few induction bolt-ons to see 500RWHP on the 2.1L KB. At least thats what they needed to make 500.

You haven't seen +500rwhp from blower cars without ported heads?

Not many 2V with combos that would last any significant amount of time. I keep a stock head on display at the shop from a motor like this, you can dance the exhaust valves around the exhaust guides are so worn out, the clearance went from 004 stock to 030 give or take in under 30,000 miles.

You can do 400RWHP all day long, but getting to the 500RWHP point pretty much the entire motor needs to be tweeked some if you want it to last.

Forged rods and pistons, and rework the heads (bronze guides, real valve job, and real springs at a minimum) Port job and cams will actually help the exhaust valve and guide last longer too.

when you say rework the heads are you referring to the stock PI heads or all aftermarket heads?
