Default 1999 cobra dimmer switch problem?

I have a 99 cobra and the other day my dimmer switch for the panel lights (speedometer, rpm,) stop working. The lights were stuck to full brightness. Then a couple of days later the lights went out. So at night I can't see the speedometer, tachometer, oil temp, oil pressure, gas or amps. Could the problem just be the dimmer switch. I can still see the odometer. Thanks

The panel light dimmer on our cars is just a simple rheostat (a high wattage potentiometer) that is integral with the headlight switch--the junk yards are full of them, they are $20 or so at your FLAPS...

i think that the reason it goes in and out has to deal with my FOG light switch. Its kinda wierd but if other people run into this problem, check the fog light switch. Thanks, cliffyk

On old foxbodies you could usually just clean them and they'd work.
