PATS problem or Fuel pump?
So my friend took his car to get a oil change at walmart and now it wont start - they admited they had no clue checked battery and its good and said they dont know how to fix it.
Went to go check it out - the car will crank but not start, I read up and narrowed it down to either the PATS anti-theft or Fuel pump
anyone have a picture of the schrader valve? It was dark so wasn't able to see it
and is it normal for the THEFT light to blink when the key is not in the ignition?
I tried the spare key, leaving it on the "START" position for 30 seconds- minute to try and reset the light and then start the car but no luck.
When the key is in the START position the THEFT light is not on, so maybe a fuel pump? I didn't have a extra set of hands so I wasn't able to listen for the fuel pump but im pretty sure I DID hear it turn on - thanks all !

yes its normal for the theft light to blink. thats telling you pats is enabled, and when it turns off with the key in thats a good sign its working properly.
you can hear the pump yourself, hell i can hear mine priming in my car with the door shut but you should definately be able to leave the door open, hang your head out the door, and put it to run and see if you can hear it.

What year is your friend's Mustang?
If a '99 to '03 there is a inertial fuel cutoff switch in the trunk, to the outside of the left taillight there is a hole in the trunk liner through which there should be visible a red button--pressing that button will reset the shut-off. If they somehow bumped the car sharply it may have tripped this switch.
One other possibility is that they dislodged the oil pressure switch electrical connector--the engine will not run (and possibly might not start) if this circuit is open.
In any event it seems to me that it is Walmarts's problem...
