I will be going to the track tonight with a bunch of my friends. I'll be running my stang, a stock 1998 GT 5-speed with 3.73's. What would be the best RPM's to shift at, and for what gears?

Shift at 5800 -- it seems to be the best all-around shift point for the 4.6 engine.

i would shift around 5200. i dont like to rev my car past 5000 anyways.

5800 is kinda puhing it. 5500-5600 sounds good.

torque curves at 5200 i believe, hit it at 5500 and you'll land right back in your band.

Uhh, I dont like to hit my max horsepower either? Why dont u like to go over 5k?Do u not have a rev limiter?

you have a stock 98 gt, you dont have PI heads so it wont flow that well anyways, up there at 5500 you will be puting down less power to the ground Vs. shifting a 5000
