Default Auto trans - software based tuning?

I have a 01 GT with a auto tranny. I know I can go the shift kit option, as well as the J-Mod.

However, since our transmissions are nearly 100% computer based (from what I heard), can this be done via software?

Any hand help tuner will change shift points, firmness, etc. But... they also do much more like adjust for gears, change timing, allow for a change of MAF and fuel injectors and more.

XCAL2s work great for improving automatic mustangs. Let me know if you are interested.
