Default Slight problems with 02 GT

I've had my 02 gt 5 spd since september and it was a great car when I first got it, until about a month ago. I started noticing the exhaust sounding different, in a not so good way. Sorry If my descriptions are hard to follow, but i'll do my best. The exhaust, when reving, sounds kinda like it get a big air chug in the pipes. It doesnt rev as loud and tight like it used to. And I can feel those few chugs when I rev it. Divorced midpipe w/ magnapack dumps. And another issue is, when trying to accelerate harder, the car will sputter in the higher RPM range, almost like I'm losing traction and the TC is kickin in, but its not. It doesnt rev higher when it does it, it makes that bog noise. Car runs and drives just fine when driving normal.
I noticed the oil smelling like gas quite a bit and read considerably past full on the dipstick, was black as well. I tell you about the oil change because afterwards for a little bit, my exhaust sounded like it once did; free flowing, loud, tight. but shortly after it went back to as it was. The sputtering part was still there.

I have no way to pull codes or anything like that. I would just like for you guys to throw out some ideas at what the problem may be. I plan to have my mechanic look at it when he's back from vacation, but in the time being, i'd really like to narrow it down and get rid of some of my curiosity lol. Thank you so much guys, I know you'll be of great help.

Do you have cats on your car?
Could be clogged cats which would cause similar issues.

no cats... Went to Advanced Auto and they pulled codes for me, only thing that came up was o2 sensor. I also noticed tonight that at 55 when I try to accelerate, it bogs. But when on interstate ate 70ish, I can floor it and it flat out goes.

I think my o2 sensors are just hanging under my car lol. So probably replace them and find a place to put them where they's stay clean??

That sounds like it's running rich. When I had a bad o2 sensor it never thru a code but I had the exact same symptoms you are describing. It was dumping in so much fuel the passenger side plugs were black from running so rich but it never thru a code which I found bizarre. It bogged when floored but if I gradually toed into it it was fine. Check your o2sensors. Or if you have a tuner shut them right off and see if that helps.

Ha... If they are just hanging there you found the problem. You need a tuner to shut them off and problem solved

Your fuel filter could also be clogged and need to be replaced.

More specifically, what was the exact code that was read?

There are at least a dozen DTCs that mention O2 sensors, some of which indicate a good sensor reporting some other problem...

I'll have my mechanic pull codes monday. And have him look. If he cant figure it out on monday, then i'll throw the codes up on here for you guys to help me out. Is there anyway I can have my o2 sensors turned off without buying a hendhelp tuner; like at a ford dealership or my mechanic do it? Thanks for the leads guys.
