Default Need help!!! 00 GT

Hi, i have a 2000 Mustang GT......three days ago i added coolant b/c my car takes 15 minutes to warm up in the cold weather....it was a little low.....the next day my low coolant light came on and i can't figure out how to get it off......I cleaned the coolant tank and the sensor...any suggestions???

there is a sensor on the reservoir that is notoriously faulty. give it a wiggle and see if it goes away. If not, I would try replacing it.

Sounds like you have a bad thermostat. Low coolant would cause it to overheat. A stuck open or partially stuck open thermostat will cause the car to take forever in the cold to heat up.

ok, well i've messed with the sensor a lot and thats not working........how will i know if my thermostat is bad? Is there any specific signs? (besides car taking a long time to warm up)

For reference/what-it's-worth, the low coolant switch was eliminated as one of the 2001-1/2 model changes...
